Singla said he had been personally monitoring complaints against such schools and after reviewing the cases of these nine schools, he decided to cancel their nocs for defying the government directions.

Schools in punjab are shut since march this year in view of the covid-19 pandemic. however, online classes are being conducted.

The punjab government said on monday that a decision had been taken to reopen schools and coaching institutions from october 15 in a graded manner.

As far as the fee charged by private schools was concerned, the state government had already moved the court, but for government schools, no fee would be charged at all for the full year, the chief minister said.

The punjab and haryana high court had on tuesday allowed private schools in punjab to collect tuition fee during the lockdown irrespective of whether schools offered online classes.

Punjab education minister vijay inder singla informed that the one-month summer vacation will start from april 11 and will continue till may 10.
